Leah is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering Systems with a minor in Science, Technology and Society. She enjoys researching satellite communication development and hopes to one day venture into Aerospace Engineering concentrations. She’s originally from California, and enjoys encouraging others to follow their passions, and uses her various roles at ASU to help students find their path to success. In her free time, she loves reading, spending time with friends and family, and working out at the gym.

Emily is a sophomore
studying Software
Engineering, and is very passionate about all things engineering. She has been involved in robotics clubs since 5th grade, which is what sparked her interest in STEM.
Outside of school, she
loves to hike and read
fantasy novels. She hopes to make next year the best one yet for WISE!
Roberta Forlemu, Treasurer

Roberta is a senior studying Manufacturing Engineering but plans on going to graduate school sometime this Fall. She is originally
from Cameroon, Africa but was raised in Arizona. This past summer she interned
for a manufacturing &
industry company where she was able to implement her engineering & mechanical skills and hopes to embark
on more opportunities like it in the future. Outside of school she loves spending time with family & friends,
traveling, & working out!

Aarushi Bharti, President

Aarushi Bharti is a senior majoring in Technological Entrepreneurship and Management and pursuing a certificate in Informatics. She joined WISE in August 2020 and has loved being a part of the organization. Aarushi interns for a non-profit Global Pearls and helps manage projects in India, Kenya, and more. In the past, she has also interned at Honeywell and Amazon and enjoyed her time at both companies. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching shows and movies, traveling, drawing, and reading.
Taylor Gowdy,

Taylor Gowdy is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering Systems who joined WISE in January 2021 to connect with more women in STEM. She currently interns at Privoro, a technology company in Tempe, and is interested in CAD and 3D printing. Outside of engineering, Taylor plays euphonium and teaches high school music.
Ananyaa Mahajan, Secretary

Ananyaa is a senior at Barrett the Honors College at Arizona State University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Family and Human Development and Sociology. She joined WISE in August 2022 and have really enjoyed being a part of the community so far! Ananyaa currently interns at Live and Learn, an organization dedicated to spread awareness about domestic violence and help those in need. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out friends, going to coffee shops and bookstores and watching movies!
Mandy Zhou, Treasurer

Mandy Zhou is a sophomore from Missouri pursuing a major in Computer Science and a minor in Chinese. As a first generation college student, she is passionate about sharing her experiences to encourage other women and underrepresented groups to pursue STEM fields and to foster positive change through technology. She has an interest in data science, web development, and the various overlaps between geology and computer science. Outside of ASU, Mandy often engages in exploring different art mediums, running, reading, and gardening.
Alice Kim, Marketing Coordinator

Alice is a senior at Edson College of Nursing at Arizona State University majoring in Integrative Health. She is currently interning for Dean Karshmer at Downtown Phoenix working on bringing stress reduction skills through mindfulness to students at ASU. During her free time she often likes to crochet, read books, and hang out with friends at the mall!
Shannon McBreen, President

Shannon McBreen is a senior majoring in Electrical Systems Engineering and minoring in both Business and Design Studies. She is extremely passionate about creating space for women in STEM to thrive personally and professionally. Shannon saw a need for female leadership opportunities at the Polytechnic Campus and chose to revive WISE in Fall 2018 after the organization had been inactive for several years. Outside of ASU, Shannon is an avid traveler, photographer, concert-goer.
Rachel Hayden, Secretary

Rachel Hayden is a senior majoring in Engineering (Mechanical Systems) and minoring in Human Systems Engineering. She is originally from O'Fallon, IL and moved to Arizona back in 2018. She joined WISE in 2018. She is involved in several clubs along with WISE, including ASU Chi Alpha and The Undertones (a jazz acapella group). Some of her hobbies include playing PickleBall, Dungeons and Dragons, and card games. She collects CDs, patches, and stickers and just loves helping people.
Aymara Vargas-Espinosa, Marketing Coordinator
Meet Mara! Originally from NJ, she is junior majoring in Information Technology, and her current areas of interest include networking and exploring Linux operating systems. Mara is the marketing coordinator for WISE, and her passions include sustainability, animal welfare, female empowerment and equality. In her spare time, she’s out adventuring with her dog Stella, or baking some macarons. She loves to travel, and hopes to visit the Savannah one day to help rehabilitate wildlife
